Drawings based on repetitive and delicate mark making are the central focus of my current practice. The drawings relate to naturally evolving organic patterns and they develop or evolve during the making process.
I am interested in the notion of ritual and dynamic form in drawing and often find that I relate to drawing as a kind of meditation. I am inclined towards the idea of ritual as a repetitive act that becomes part of life, connecting one to a bigger narrative and giving a sense of belonging or safety through participation. I find that this notion of ritual connects to the repetitive nature of the drawing process.
